3, Introduction
Pure zirconium sand is usually colorless and transparent crystal state, Quartet column construction, normally because of the different Country of Origin with the different types and quantity of impurities, resulting in dyed yellow, orange, red, brown and other colors, hardness 7.8, specific gravity 4.6-4.71, 1.93-2.01 refractive index, birefringence, absorb light directly; magnetic susceptibility low, non-conductive; the melting point of 2550 °C. Zircon sand normally symbiotic with ilmenite, rutile, monazite and xenotime in the Coastal sand, then will get zircon sand after the water, electrostatic, and magnetic separation processing. Their theoretical compositions are ZrO2 and SiO2, and a small amount of Fe2O3, CaO, Al2O3, and other impurities, theoretically pure zircon sand containing 67.23% ZrO2 and 32.77% SiO2
4, Usage
zirconium sand is commonly used in the manufacturing of refractory (Zirconium refractories, such as zirconium corundum brick, zirconium refractory fiber), molding industry, ceramic and enamelware producing, in addition, also used in the production of glass, metal (spongeZr) and zirconium compounds (zirconium dioxide, zirconium oxychloride, zirconium, sodium fluorozirconate, potassium, zirconium sulfate, etc.).
